Wiley Roots Releases New Slush and Hopadoxical Series

GREELEY, Colo. — Wiley Roots Brewing Company is excited to announce the expansion of two popular product families focused on highly fruited sours with rotating whole fruit puree and hop forward juicy IPAs with rotating tropical hops. On April 27, 2018, the brewery is releasing a limited supply of cans of Lime Slush, Lemon Slush, Raspberry-Lemonade Slush, and Mass Communication to-go from the taproom with kegs allotted for on-site consumption, plus a special taproom only release of frozen Lemon-Lime Slush.

Lime Slush, Lemon Slush, and Raspberry-Lemonade Slush will be available to-go in 16oz cans for $16 per 4-pack, one case per variant per person limit, and on draft for $6.50 per 12oz pour. Mass Communication is available in 16oz cans to-go for $18 per 4-pack, one case per person limit, and on draft for $8 per 16oz pour. Wiley Roots will be serving frozen Lemon-Lime Slush while supplies last for $6.50 per 12oz pour. The brewery has rented a slushy machine to use for three days, but do not expect the slushy beer to last through the weekend. Customers are encouraged to arrive early to the brewery on Friday if they want to try the on-site only variant.

Slush is a heavily fruited rotating sour series inspired by everyone’s favorite summer drink hanging out at the local drive-in. Wiley Roots released the first variant, Cherry-Limeade, in March. After receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback, the brewery decided to expand the series with more fruit flavors. Slush variants are divided by either lemon or lime base beers with additional fruits added, creating a nostalgic flashback to adding a shot of fruit flavor to your summer slushy. But unlike the drive-in, the brewery only uses whole fruit puree with no artificial flavors or colors. Slushes are easy drinking and refreshing at 4.6% ABV.

Mass Communication is a tropical, juicy, New England style IPA brewed with a hopping rate of 4 lbs per barrel of Mosaic and El Dorado hops. The hops are added late in the brewing process, during whirlpool, and then heavily dry hopped during fermentation. Mass Communication joins Rapid Transit, a pale ale brewed with Amarillo and Lemondrop Hops, as part of the brewery’s Hopadoxical series that focuses on the combining rotating tropical hops with a balanced and approachable base beer to showcase the floral, fruity, and citrus character of each hop. Mass Communication is 7.2% ABV and is the second packaged beer in the series that has quickly become a taproom favorite.

Mass Communication Hazy IPA, Lime Slush, Lemon Slush, and Raspberry-Lemonade Slush will be available onsite and to-go with frozen Lemon-Lime Slush available on-site only, starting at 12pm on Friday.
