St. Mary’s, PA — Straub Brewery Inc. proudly accepted one of three “NBWA Brewer Partner of the Year Awards,” during the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) 78th Annual Convention and Trade Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Straub’s award focused on beer wholesaler relations and sales execution.

The third oldest family-owned and operated brewery in the United States, dating back to the 1870s, Straub Brewery produces approximately 40,000 barrels of beer a year and is located in North Central Pennsylvania — an area referred to as the “PA Wilds”. Now into its fifth generation of family leadership, this American Legacy Brewery is merging the quality and pioneering vision of the past with the current craft and artisanal brewing revolution.

“On behalf of our team, I would like to thank the NBWA for recognizing Straub Brewery with this incredible honor, which reflects our ongoing transformation of the company,” said Straub Brewery President and CEO Bill Brock, who is a fifth-generation family member and the great-great grandson of founder Peter Straub. “While Straub brews some of the very best American Lagers and craft beer in today’s market, we could not be successful without the commitment and innovation of our wholesalers in building our brands and distributing our beer to consumers. I need to especially thank all of our wholesalers for believing in our brand, as well as the Straub Brewery employees for their fiercely independent commitment to brewing, packaging, and selling quality beer.”

The NBWA recognized Straub Brewery for the quality of its beers, the company’s innovative efforts to modernize its production facility, the systems and standards it uses to sell its products, and the demonstrated commitment and partnership Straub has forged with its beer wholesaler partners.

“In 2012, Straub took the bold step of restructuring their distribution in Pennsylvania, and, for the first time, assigned primary brand franchise rights to distributors across the state for their craft beers,” NBWA President & CEO Craig Purser said. “The result of this effort has been a far more efficient distribution system and a true partnership between Straub Brewery and their 20 distributors across the state.”

Straub Brewery produces approximately 15 year-round and seasonal beers with distribution primarily in Pennsylvania. For more information, please visit www.straubbeer.com.
