Stillmank Brewing Company to Expand with New Facility

Green Bay, WI — Stillmank Brewing Company has purchased the building at 215 North Henry Street in Green Bay. This will be Green Bay’s first east side brewery in more than 40 years, and initially will be able to increase Stillmank’s Brewing capacity by more than 600 percent.

This is one of a growing number of “brewer owned” production facilities in the state, looking to begin production at this new facility in early fall of 2014. This building was formally owned by Builders Supply, and used for warehousing lumber, windows, and doors. The now 14,000 square foot building will be remodeled to include a tasting room, parking lot, brewery production, and warehousing.

“Stillmank Beer Company has been a local Green Bay business with all aspects of the business run out of our home for the last 2 years, apart from beer production,” said brewery owner Brad Stillmank. ” I have been lucky to have good friends at the 2nd Street brewery in Milwaukee, allow me to produce all my beer at their brewery. It is time to bring the last piece of our company home.”

Stillmank Beer has experienced solid sales growth in its first two years, having nearly doubled its sales from the first to second year. This is especially impressive as the company is focused on kegs and cans only, with no plans for bottling.

Stillmank notes that the expansion will bring him the ability to expand his product line.

“I intend to brew at least three full time brands right out of the gates,” said Stillmank “Wisco Disco will continue to lead as the flagship, and I will add a new rye beer and an IPA that will help to begin to round out our portfolio. This is just the start, we are very fortunate to live in a town that can really get behind a small local idea, and make it huge. I owe a huge thank you to all those that put Wisco on tap, or on their shelves at retail, giving a new (and kind of unconventional) company a chance. The response has been tremendous, and now it is time to build our Green Bay brewery, giving our community a chance to stop by and see what we are up to on a day to day basis.”

Stillmank has worked hard to be sure that his beer is not just available in North East Wisconsin, but literally born there in as many ways as possible. The company’s focus has been on keeping it local, nearly everything it takes to make the Stillmank brands comes in one way or another from Wisconsin.

“As a local company, it is very important to us that our local economy thrives along with us,” Stillmank said. “That is why when we look for a new product, service, or piece of equipment we look to Wisconsin first!”

Stillmank’s flagship brand Wisco Disco is a cold conditioned amber ale brewed with a touch of lactose. This robust ale is wonderfully refreshing, and designed with the intent to be an easy drinking beer with Wisconsin cheese!
