Smuttynose Brewing Company Adds Pinniped Special Vienna Lager to Year-Round Lineup

HAMPTON, NH — It’s the beer you always wanted, but didn’t know how to ask for. Smuttynose Brewing Company will release its all-new Vienna lager, Pinniped Special, on June 3rd in 6pk and 12pk bottles and on draft. Full of flavor with an ABV of 5.1%, it’s the perfect beer to enjoy at the beach during the summer or around the fire in winter.

“We’ve always been big fans of the Vienna lagers, so we’re really excited to offer this beer year-round” said Peter Egelston, founder and president of Smuttynose Brewing Company. “Our brewmaster, Steve Schmidt, used classic ingredients and brewing techniques to make it as authentic and true to the style as possible, and we think Vienna would be proud.”

The Vienna lager was first brewed in Vienna by renowned brewmaster Anton Dreher in 1841, and is defined by its reddish-brown or copper-colored beer with medium body and slight malt sweetness with hints of toast. Pinniped Special encompasses all that and more, with notes of caramel and toasted bread balanced by a clean, hoppy bitterness before giving way to a refreshingly dry, cleansing finish.

Smuttynose Brewing Company, New Hampshire’s leading independent craft brewery, has been brewing award-winning beer from the Granite State’s Seacoast since 1994. Their Hampton headquarters is the first LEED Gold-certified greenfield brewery in the US, and is home to Hayseed Restaurant and a nine hole-disc golf course. Smuttynose beers are available in New England and select markets around the country.
