Silver City Brewery Expands Capacity, Distribution

Bremerton, WA – 2015 was a landmark year for Silver City Brewery.

Beginning with a top-to-bottom branding and packaging overhaul, the year saw the addition of a new, state-of-the-art brewing system; being selected to brew the official beer of the 7th Annual Seattle Beer Week; and the full-time expansion into 12oz. can packaging. These milestones resulted in 12,500 barrels of beer brewed, a 25 percent increase over 2014.

2016, the twentieth anniversary of Silver City Brewery, is primed with new, exciting opportunities, beginning with the first addition to the year-round lineup since 2010: Nice Day IPA. Featuring vibrant citrusy, juicy hop character, Nice Day IPA finishes crisp and dry for super “smashability” (i.e. consuming in volume). Nice Day IPA is now available in 12oz. cans and on draft throughout all of Washington State.

Silver City Brewery is thrilled to announce full-time distribution to Central and Eastern Washington for the first time in company history, in partnership with the Odom Corporation.

“Since we first began outside distribution, our friends over the pass have been patiently asking when they can expect to find our beer locally,” comments Director of Sales & Marketing Kurt Larson, “Expansion is something we don’t take lightly. We flat-out refuse to increase our footprint unless we can be certain that the beer will remain of the utmost quality, and that we can maintain an active, personal relationship with every bar, restaurant, or retailer that chooses to carry the Silver City Brewery brand.”

Silver City Brewery new fermenters

In order to ensure that the quality of the beer remains top-notch, the brewery has added two brand-new fermentation vessels, each of 160 barrel capacity- their largest to date. These are Silver City Brewery’s first all-weather tanks, and are staged outside the building, near the grain silos.

Brewery founder Scott Houmes comments, “We have made great strides since opening our production facility in 2010. Hard work and persistence does pay off. I am very proud of the team we have put together here in Bremerton. Each individual has helped us reach our goal of continuing to create fresh, approachable craft beer. We are truly blessed to have so many fans of Silver City beer. Their commitment to our brand has allowed us to build our team, add needed brewing equipment and expand our brand. It seems like just yesterday that we were producing 2,300bbls (2010). Now as we approach 15,000 this year, it’s exciting to know that our fan base has reached the other side of the great state of Washington.”

Silver City draft beer is currently available at many wonderful bars and restaurants in Central and Eastern Washington including Lantern Tap House, Manito Tap House, Saranac Public House, Barley’s Brewhub and Brews Taphouse.
