Down The Road Beer Company Releasing Limited-Edition Cherry Feyborn Berliner Weisse

Down The Road Beer Company Announces Limited Edition Cherry Feyborn Berliner Weisse – 3 Coordinated Regional Release Parties December 15 & 16th!

Boston, MA — What do beer drinkers really want for the holidays? How about something crisp, refreshing and decidedly different? Everett-based Down the Road Beer Co. is releasing the newest iteration of its well-received Feyborn Berliner Weisse – this time with a cherry twist. At 4.5% ABV, this new brew features a kettle-soured wheat base with a blast of sour cherries and will be available this winter for a limited time only!

At its base, Berliner Weisse is a low ABV, golden wheat that is more sour than most wild ales and less sour than lambics. To contribute additional character, Berliner Weisse is often enjoyed “mit schuss,” meaning “with sauce.” Inspired by the diversity of the schuss tradition, Down The Road is excited to bring back this favorite with seasonally appropriate tart cherries!

As with all of its beers, Down the Road’s Cherry Feyborn Berliner Weisse draws on folklore from its region of origin. Feyborn is a reference to the myth of the changeling child – a faerie that assumes the form of an infant to blend in with human society. Characterized as a wild child with flowing golden locks, a mischievous grin, pointed ears and an animated tail, our Feyborn is nothing but trouble.

Want to be one of the first to try Cherry Feyborn Berliner Weisse? To fulfill our mission to bring great beer “Down The Road” we are planning coordinated release parties this weekend throughout the state with special food pairings, free samples, free glassware with purchase (while supplies last) and merchandise giveaways!
