Down The Road Beer Company Releasing Limited-Edition Cherry Feyborn Berliner Weisse

Down The Road Beer Company Announces Limited Edition Cherry Feyborn Berliner Weisse – 3 Coordinated Regional Release Parties December 15 & 16th!

Boston, MA — What do beer drinkers really want for the holidays? How about something crisp, refreshing and decidedly different? Everett-based Down the Road Beer Co. is releasing the newest iteration of its well-received Feyborn Berliner Weisse – this time with a cherry twist. At 4.5% ABV, this new brew features a kettle-soured wheat base with a blast of sour cherries and will be available this winter for a limited time only!

At its base, Berliner Weisse is a low ABV, golden wheat that is more sour than most wild ales and less sour than lambics. To contribute additional character, Berliner Weisse is often enjoyed “mit schuss,” meaning “with sauce.” Inspired by the diversity of the schuss tradition, Down The Road is excited to bring back this favorite with seasonally appropriate tart cherries!

As with all of its beers, Down the Road’s Cherry Feyborn Berliner Weisse draws on folklore from its region of origin. Feyborn is a reference to the myth of the changeling child – a faerie that assumes the form of an infant to blend in with human society. Characterized as a wild child with flowing golden locks, a mischievous grin, pointed ears and an animated tail, our Feyborn is nothing but trouble.

Want to be one of the first to try Cherry Feyborn Berliner Weisse? To fulfill our mission to bring great beer “Down The Road” we are planning coordinated release parties this weekend throughout the state with special food pairings, free samples, free glassware with purchase (while supplies last) and merchandise giveaways!

  • December 15th @ dNB Burgers in New Bedford from 6-9pm
  • December 15th @ Ferry Street Food and Drink in Malden from 6-9pm
  • December 16th @ Naco Taco in Cambridge from 7pm on

Cherry Feyborn Berliner Weisse will be available mid-December in 16 oz cans and on draft at select establishment. Escape the mundane and join the faeries in revelous drink far from prying eyes. Prost!

About Down The Road Beer Company
Down The Road Beer made its first official mark on the Metro Boston Craft Beer market with the launch of its signature Pukwudgie Pale Ale in April 2015. However, the company’s Founder and Head Brewer, Donovan Bailey, began brewing beer over 20 years ago with his father. Down The Road brings a uniqueness to the Craft Beer market by bucking the trend to create the next craziest innovation. Instead, the company focuses on creating fresh, high quality beer, brewed locally in Massachusetts and inspired by traditional brewing techniques. Down The Road is based in Everett, MA and has already sold its beers in over 700 retail outlets, bars and restaurants. The company plans to open a Taproom in Everett in early 2017 to further deliver upon its Mission to bring its Fresh, Local and Inspired beer “Down The Road.” Visit or follow the company on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram at @DTRBrewery to find out more.
