Los Angeles County to Require Proof of Vaccination for Indoor Breweries, Wineries, Bars, Clubs and Major Events

Los Angeles County will require proof of vaccination to be shown before patrons can enter breweries, wineries, indoor bars, nightclubs and lounges, according to FOX11.

LA County public health director Dr. Barbara Ferrer told the LA County Board of Supervisors Wednesday that the order will require patrons to have at least one dose of a vaccine for COVID-19 by October 7. Both doses will be required by November 4.

Restaurants are excluded from the impending order but the county is “strongly” recommended that they require proof of vaccination for indoor service.

Attendees of large-scale outdoor events, such as professional sports games, will be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative test taken within 72 hours of the event. The order will cover the Los Angeles Rams’ and Chargers’ home games.

In April, LA County required that events with 10,000 attendees or more require masks.

Indoor events of 5,000 attendees or more already require proof of vaccination in the county.

Yesterday, the NFL’s Buffalo Bills and the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres announced they would require proof of vaccination for spectators older than 12.

At Highmark Stadium, where the Bills play, guests must show proof of vaccination for at least one shot of the two-dose vaccines for the September 26 and October 3 games. Attendees of Sabres games or concerts at KeyBank Center may show proof of one dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine between September 25 and October 30.

After October 31, guests of both facilities must be fully vaccinated, which the organizations defined as being two weeks after the second dose of Moderna or Pfizer vaccines or two weeks after a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccines.

Fully vaccinated spectators are not required to wear masks, but children younger than 12, who cannot be vaccinated, are required to wear them.

Digital photos of vaccination cards will not be accepted for entry, according to Erie County executive director Mark Poloncarz. Accepted forms include the New York state Excelsior Pass app, a digital vaccination card from biometric security firm Clear, or a government issued digital vaccine card from a state other than New York.

The NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders announced game attendees at Allegiant Stadium would be required to provide proof of vaccination using the Clear app last month. The Raiders and the Bills are the only two NFL teams to require vaccination to attend games so far.
