Kaló Hemp-Infused Seltzer Expands Distribution to 10 States

New Jersey hemp-infused seltzer brand Kaló announced today that its products are available in 10 states via 12 tier-one distributor partnerships.

Kaló products are now sold in convenience stores, natural markets, and independent grocery stores across New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Florida, Maine, Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee, according to a release.

Among those partners are Konrad Beer Distributor (Anheuser-Busch) in New Jersey, Pine State Beverage (Molson Coors) in Maine, and Triangle Distribution (Molson Coors) in Wisconsin.

“With Kaló, it’s our ambition to be the go-to infused beverage brand of the East, a region that is embracing hemp-based products and rapidly adopting legal cannabis,” Ken VandeVrede, CEO of Kalo’s parent company Hillview, said in the release. “With eight hemp-infused seltzers in the market and a THC beverage on the way, we’re focused on building strong retail partnerships and brand fans in our own backyard, with plans to expand our retail footprint nationwide within the year.”

Last August, Kaló secured an agreement with Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co. of New York Inc. (PCNY), debuting its products in stores and restaurants throughout the New York City metropolitan area. The agreement made Kaló “the first functional hemp beverage” to launch in the PCNY distribution system, according to a release.

“Plant-based beverages are extremely innovative and growing fast,” Reginald Goins, president and COO of PCNY, said in the August release. “We continue to be very selective in which brands we carry and Kaló is a special hemp-infused beverage that our consumers will love.”

In addition to its expanded distribution, Kaló announced the addition of four new flavors: Black Cherry, Ruby Red Grapefruit, Ginger Lemonade and Blood Orange. The new line uses the same water-soluble hemp extract as Kaló’s existing flavors, but is designed “to help consumers feel good faster, without sacrificing taste,” according to the release. The 15-calorie seltzers are sold in 12 oz. cans, with 15 mg. hemp.

“Kaló answers consumer demand for a fast-acting, feel-good beverage that delivers the powerful wellness benefits of hemp-derived cannabinoids without derailing your day,” VandeVrede said in the release. “Our flavors are carefully crafted using only the most premium ingredients, delivered in a patented water-soluble formula that produces desired effects in under five minutes.”

Kaló’ existing product line includes Lemon Lavender, Strawberry Watermelon, Raspberry Lime and Pomegranate Peach.
