Julian Hard Cider Announces Four Seasonal Spring Blends

SAN DIEGO COUNTY – At a western-themed saloon on the famed Hwy 78 “Hops Highway” brewery corridor, a former apple-packing facility at Julian Station is now home to Julian Hard Cider’s four spring seasonal blends. With its newly introduced growlers, Julian Hard Cider’s tasting room offers craft-cider connoisseurs the option for draft cider to-go, including the limited-release seasonal blends.

“Experimentation with unexpected flavors is part of what makes our brand special” says Paul Thomas, founder of Julian Hard Cider. “When you come to our tasting room, you’ll leave having tried high-quality cider blends unlike anything you’ve tasted before.”

Currently on tap and ready to quench the thirst of all who enter, new cider blends include:

Peach: Semi-sweet cider with a golden hue, soft peach flavor, and refreshing springtime feel

Dry Ginger: Dry with a crisp, clean finish, this cider veers away from the sweet side with a spicy ginger bite

Hopped Cider: Think of this cider as an IPA’s long-lost second cousin, once removed. It’s dry, lightly hopped, and gluten-free – perfect for beer-loving cider drinkers

Razzmatazz: Fruity and tart, blended with the juice of luscious, sun-ripened red raspberries

According to Thomas, the best way to enjoy fresh hard cider is straight from the tap. As of this month, they’ve introduced growlers to send that experience home with you.

“Growlers give cider lovers the opportunity to take our delicious ciders back down the hill to enjoy with dinner, a picnic, or a backyard barbecue. For the first time, this experience can be savored at home with blends that are only available at our tasting room,” says Thomas.

A short drive up the road from the tasting room, just east of town, is Apple Lane Orchard, owned by JHC co-founders Keith & Priscilla Webb. Nestled among the rows of apple trees on the property is Julian Hard Cider’s small-batch cidery. Each fall, this boutique facility will produce locally-sourced, specialty batches of hard cider in the heart of Julian, using apples grown on the orchard and by local friends and neighbors.

Peach, Dry Ginger and Hopped Cider specialty batches will only be available for a limited time at the tasting room. Julian Hard Cider’s one-liter growlers cost $5, plus $10 per fill, with up to 12 rotating blends available on tap.
