Highland Brewing Company Releases Starchaser White

ASHEVILLE, NC — Highland Brewing Company is happy to announce the release of Starchaser White, the latest addition to the company’s year-round line-up. Originally released earlier this year as a summer seasonal, this Belgian-inspired white ale is brewed with coriander, candied ginger, and grapefruit peel. Named the fourth best American wheat ale by Vine Pair Inc. in August 2018, and wildly popular in the Highland Tasting Room, the resounding acclaim for this beer made it an easy decision to upgrade the brew to be included in Highland’s year-round portfolio.

The production of Starchaser White will involve sourcing ingredients from two other local Asheville companies. The wheat and rye used in the brewing of this beer will be sourced from Riverbend Malt House, a malt roaster located in Asheville that sources all their grain from local farmers. The coriander for Starchaser will be acquired through Spicewalla, an Asheville-based spice wholesaler founded by James Beard-nominated chef Meherwan Irani.

Starchaser will release on December 21st at the Highland Brewing Tasting Room in tandem with Highland’s newest seasonal offering, Midnight Summit Vanilla Milk Stout. Soon after its release party, Starchaser will be available in six-pack cans and on draft throughout Highland’s distribution footprint in the Southeast

ABOUT HIGHLAND BREWING

Brewing was founded in 1994 by retired engineer and entrepreneur Oscar Wong, establishing it as the pioneer of Asheville, NC’s now booming craft beer industry. With a portfolio that is equal parts established and inventive, Highland is known for consistently excellent beer. Proudly regional, Highland is distributed in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, and Kentucky. Annual production around 46,000 barrels makes Highland is the largest independent family-owned brewery born in the Southeast and it has the third largest solar array in an American craft brewery. The brewery is in a rehabilitated manufacturing facility on a hilltop, affording space for thousands of visitors to enjoy limited release beers, tours, and live music. In addition, the event center and rooftop can be reserved for private events. Today, the company is led by Wong’s daughter, Leah Wong Ashburn, and has 50 full-time employees.
