Headlands Brewing Company Announces Wolback Ridge IPA

MARIN COUNTY, California – Headlands Brewing Company, one of the Bay Area’s most highly regarded craft beer companies, announced today the commercial availability of a new IPA, Wolfback Ridge. This marks the first new member of its core lineup since the company’s inception in 2013.

Wolfback Ridge is a light drinking IPA that balances West Coast bitterness with a robust fruit flavor and aroma. Its relatively simple grain bill lends itself to a medium-light body that lets the hops flow naturally. It features a notable bitterness that weaves its way all the way through the tropical, citrus and stone fruit flavor and aroma. Its ABV is 6.5%. Wolfback Ridge joins the company’s award winning Pt. Bonita Pilsner and Hill 88 Double IPA. It replaces the company’s Belgian-style Groupe G RyePA.

“Wolfback Ridge has been in the works for awhile. We’ve been tinkering with the recipe and waiting patiently for the right time to launch it into our core lineup. We’re excited to finally make it available commercially across all formats,” said Phil Cutti, co-founder and head brewer at Headlands Brewing. “It’s a light drinking IPA with a robust flavor and aroma– a perfect combination for Summer. It’s a nod towards the West Coast IPA bitterness, but the focus is on the late addition hops for flavor and aroma. The all malt grain bill is layered but light in body; achieving a nice balance point for the hops. We think our fans are really going to like this one. It’s a perfect complement to our existing lineup,” Cutti added.

Wolfback Ridge will be available immediately in 16 oz cans and draught at select distributors and restaurants throughout the Bay Area.

Headlands Brewing also announced that Pt. Bonita was recently awarded a Bronze at the prestigious Los Angeles International Beer Competition.
