Harpoon Introduces Flannel Friday Fall Seasonal

Boston, MA  – There are subtle but unmistakable signs that announce the arrival of fall. That first crisp afternoon – the sun is bright but there’s a slight chill in the air. And then there are the first few leaves that start to turn on the trees. Perhaps the most telling, there’s the first day at the brewery when almost everyone shows up in flannel. In celebration of the New England fall, the employee owners of Harpoon are proud to introduce Flannel Friday, the brewery’s first new fall seasonal offering since 1989.

This Hoppy Amber Ale is a tribute to the quintessential season of change. A bright hop aroma from Cascade and Citra hop additions complements its strong and complex malt backbone. Amber hued, medium bodied, with hints of citrus and pine, Flannel Friday is meant for the crisp days of fall.

Flannel Friday Tasting Notes:

  • Appearance: Amber in color with a garnet hue
  • Aroma: Citrus, piney, a hint of tropical fruit
  • Mouth feel: Medium bodied
  • Taste: Malty and hoppy
  • Finish: Moderate hop finish

Flannel Friday Specs:

  • Style: Hoppy Amber Ale
  • ABV: 5.7%
  • IBU: 35
  • EBC: 32

Harpoon Flannel Friday is available now in 6-pack and 12-pack bottles, 12-pack cans, and on draft. For more information visit www.harpoonbrewery.com. About the Harpoon Brewery:

The Harpoon Brewery was founded by beer lovers Dan Kenary, Rich Doyle, and George Ligeti. In 1986 Harpoon was issued Brewing Permit #001 by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, since it was the first brewery to brew commercially in Boston after a dormant period of about 25 years. Harpoon’s line of craft beer features its award winning IPA and UFO beers, along with special seasonal selections. In 2000 Harpoon purchased a second brewery in Windsor, VT, making Harpoon the 19th largest craft brewer in the US. Harpoon has since introduced the limited batch 100 Barrel Series and the as well as the all-natural Harpoon Craft Cider made from freshly pressed apples. In August 2014 Harpoon became an employee-owned company. For more information about Harpoon beers and visiting the breweries, visit www.harpoonbrewery.com.
