Fretboard Brewing Company to Release Reverberator Doppelbock

CINCINNATI, Ohio — In collaboration with Cincinnati native Joe Hoffecker, award-winning editorial cartoonist for the Cincinnati Business Courier, Fretboard Brewing Company is releasing a traditional style Doppelbock beer named Reverberator, Thursday, February 22nd. Joe has produced a special illustration just for the release of Reverberator in honor of Bockfest and the unique brewing heritage of Cincinnati.

Recently celebrating his 30 years of work with the Business Courier, Hoffecker is a homebrewer himself and an avid craft beer fan, especially of traditional German styles, like bock. His connection to Fretboard is from a long-time friendship with one of the brewery’s managing partners, Kevin Moreland. “I remember meeting Kevin at Bockfest around 2004 while performing with the Bier Band,” Hoffecker said. “Even back then, Kevin was very enthusiastic about Cincinnati, its brewing history, and making it a better community. I share that enthusiasm and when he needed an illustration for Fretboard’s Doppelbock, I immediately volunteered my services. It’s been great to watch Kevin evolve and bring his passions to life through the years, and I hope this drawing reflects some of that.”

Fretboard Brewing Company is honored to work with Mr. Hoffecker and will be releasing their Doppelbock beer called, Reverberator this coming Thursday, February 22nd, at 5pm in the Fretboard brewery taproom. There will be a special t-shirt release with Joe’s illustration and posters will be for sale. “Doppel” meaning “double” is a stronger version of German-style bock beers. Originally made by monks in Munich, Doppelbocks are full-bodied, higher gravity beers.

Fretboard Brewing Company is located at 5800 Creek Rd in Blue Ash. Fretboard specializes in quality craft ales and traditional style lagers. Recently opened in November 2017, Fretboard has quickly gained traction in the local Cincinnati market and distributed its products to more than 150 bars and restaurants in Cincinnati. Its recent success and rapid growth can be attributed to their passion for quality craft brews and the managing partners’ love of music. Fretboard’s taproom hosts live music every Friday and Saturday evening and is open 7 days a week.
