Fort Point Beer Company Expands Packaging Formats

Fort Point Moon Phase Belgian Style Quadrupel

SAN FRANCISCO – Fort Point Beer Company announced today the release of Moon Phase, a Belgian-Style Quadrupel Ale, aged in bourbon barrels. A unique combination of smoky bourbon and dry, malted sweetness, Moon Phase is the first release in Fort Point’s new 22 ounce bottle packaging.

Building upon the brewery’s successful can launch in November 2015 and ongoing draft production, Fort Point has expanded its packaging to include larger-format bottles, to be released throughout this year.

“We are excited to grow the Fort Point brand” said co-founder, Justin Catalana. “The 22 ounce bottles allow us to expand our packaging for specialty beers, those that don’t synergize with our existing 12 ounce can styles.”

Moon Phase, the first of these small-batch and limited-release bottles, was created in collaboration with Healthy Spirits, one of the Bay Area’s preeminent bottle shops.

Moon Phase will be available at Healthy Spirits’ three locations, at Fort Point’s Ferry Building kiosk, and on draft in limited quantities across the Bay Area.

Fort Point worked with San Francisco design firm Manual to create the new packaging.

About Fort Point Beer Company:

Fort Point Beer Company was founded in 2014 by brothers Tyler and Justin Catalana in the Presidio of San Francisco. The brewery resides in a historic Presidio building that was formerly used as an Army motor pool. Being situated in this iconic landscape reinforces our pride in San Francisco and in the beer we brew. We create balanced, thoughtful beers that reference traditional styles but are by no means bound to them. We want our beers to tell a story, inspire an idea, and be thoroughly enjoyable.
