Fort Collins Brewery to Release Belgian-Style Peach Saison


Fort Collins, CO – On July 2nd, locals will have an opportunity to try July seasonal Peaches & Barley before the general public. Fort Collins Brewery (FCB) will have the Belgian-Style Peach Saison on draft at the Modern Tavern.

The crisp, summer saison pays homage to the tradition and style of saisons but remains unmistakably FCB. One crucial component when working with the sweetness of peaches and apricots in the brew is balance.

“To keep Peaches & Barley super drinkable but still have a great deal of peach and apricot flavor, we elevated the alcohol content and used just enough ginger, orange peel, and black peppercorns to create a restrained spice note that works to amplify the immense flavor and aroma of fresh peaches and apricots,” said FCB Operations Manager Thomas Barnett. “This beer should please a true blue saison connoisseur or anyone who loves peaches and craft beer.”

At 7.5% ABV, Peaches & Barley has a complex, phenolic character that stems from traditional Belgian Saison yeast. Brewed with Magnum hops and dry-hopped with Centennial, the citrus flavors of the saison help round out the sweetness from the stone fruits.

Peaches & Barley will also be available on draft on Saturday at the Modern Tavern. This will be the last seasonal available in bottles as the brewery transitions to cans. Participating liquor stores, restaurants and bars within FCB’s distribution footprint can expect to see Peaches & Barley on draft and in 6-packs in the next few weeks.
