Diamond Knot Craft Brewing Releases Azacca IPA

MUKILTEO, WA – Winter has wrapped and it’s not a moment too soon. With a sun dance in mind, Diamond Knot Craft Brewing is releasing its take on tropical magic – Azacca IPA – on April 4.

This single hop, limited release beer uses Azacca hops from Roy Farms in Moxie, Wash. Azacca hops are dwarf hops grown on low trellises. What nature doesn’t put in the height of the vines, it packs into the hop flowers themselves.

This beer pours rich golden in color with a slight dry hop haze. There is the aroma of sweet honey dew that leads to the tropical flavors of papaya and mango. This is a full-bodied IPA paired with a clean finish and lingering floral notes. Azacca IPA details: 6.5% ABV, 40 IBUs.

Azacca hops are all about tropical fruit flavors. Our Azacca diver, Lucky, decided to try it himself and pulled up a stool at the tiki bar for a pint or two. The label art, drawn by Whidbey Island artist Dave Gignac and made beautiful by Snohomish’s Sibyl Design, embraces the tropic love.

Diamond Knot’s Azacca IPA will be available on draft and in 22 oz. bottles in limited supply.

CONTINUING THE WEEK-LONG PARTY WITH NEW BEER’S EVE

Back in 1933, New Beer’s Eve became an unofficial holiday the day before Prohibition was lifted April 7. Diamond Knot is officially celebrating this unofficial holiday with a release of four new brews at noon on Thursday, April 6.

Following the package launch of Azacca IPA earlier in the week, Diamond Knot locations will pour:

• Belgian Style Dubbel

• Cascadian Golden IPA

• Citrus IPA

• The 727 IPA, brewed with Idaho7 and Experimental 07270 hops

Tapping of the new beers will be at noon at both Diamond Knot locations: the Diamond Knot Brewery & Alehouse in Mukilteo and Brewpub @ MLT in Mountlake Terrace.

“We got the green light to dive into experimenting with fun new beers,” said Brian Guerrant, Diamond Knot’s production manager. “It’s exciting for the brewers to try new things and be creative. We are all looking forward to sharing these beers with our fans.”

Founded in 1994, Diamond Knot Craft Brewing is a privately held company and Snohomish County’s oldest continuously-operating, independently-owned brewery.
