ATHENS, GA — Attention IPA lovers: your new favorite beer has arrived. Athens, Georgia, brewery Creature Comforts Brewing Company will be releasing its new seasonal Double IPA, Cosmik Debris, to the Athens and Atlanta markets as soon as next week.
According to Co-Brewmaster, Adam Beauchamp, “Cosmik Debris is a vibrant, light in color, Double IPA with a relatively dry flavor and assertive hop aroma. Intense aromas of pineapple, melon, and lime zest, lead to a soft palate featuring a carefully struck balance between firm bitterness and malt.” The beer is brewed using Simcoe, Amarillo, Citra and Columbus hops, which gives it its strong fruity smell and soft, balanced taste, and is 8.3% abv .
After the success of Creature Comforts year round IPA, Tropicália, fans of the brewery have been anxiously awaiting another hop forward offering. Cosmik Debris is the natural progression for CCBC, as this beer, like Tropicália, focuses more on the flavor and aroma characteristics that hops can impart in beer rather than simply the bitterness.
Cosmik Debris™ is the first of many seasonal beers that will be offered by Creature Comforts this year. The beer made its debut during Athens’ Craft Beer Week, and has gotten rave reviews on social media and from brewery-goers whenever it has been available since.
Cosmik Debris will be on tap at the brewery starting in May and lasting as long as they have kegs.
