Catawba Brewing Releases Two New Small Batch Beers

Morganton, NC — Catawba Brewing hosts a Sour Tap Takeover at their Asheville South Slope Tasting Room on Thursday, July 27, starting at 4pm. This special event in the Rickhouse Bar features six releases from the brewery’s 2017 Sour Program. Flights of all six beers will be available while supplies last.

The Sour Tap Takeover coincides with the release of a new Small Batch Watermelon Gose, available at all Catawba locations and in limited distribution. This refreshing summer wheat beer was soured in the kettle with Lactobacillus, and features additions of salt, coriander, and watermelon puree. See the entire lineup below:

  • Apple Sour Ale (5.8% ABV)
  • Watermelon Gose (4.8% ABV)
  • Guava Sour Ale (6.0% ABV)
  • Raspberry Sour Ale (6.0% ABV)
  • Barrel-Aged Sour Zombie (5.5% ABV)
  • Barrel-Aged Apricot Brett Farmhouse Ale (7.5% ABV)

On Friday, July 28, Catawba taps a Small Batch Peanut Butter Stout (5.8% ABV). Brewed with Chocolate Malts and Midnight Wheat, it was conditioned on local WNC peanuts and Madagascar vanilla beans. The beer will be available exclusively in their four tasting rooms.
