Brewport Tap House Opening in Downtown El Segundo in March

brewport

El Segundo, CA — A bold new addition to the craft beer and dining world is coming to El Segundo, as Brewport Tap House is set to open its doors later this month.

From its location at 204 North Main Street, the site of the former Downtown El Segundo Post Office, Brewport Tap House will offer a revolutionary gustatory experience, leveraging technology that will allow patrons to access and pour beer and wine by the ounce, a concept known as “self-pour.”

Featuring extensive, seasonal craft beer and wine offerings (as well as non-alcoholic beverages), the “self-pour” format encourages experimentation – prompting patrons to broaden their horizons and try new selections they might otherwise never experience.

Brewport will feature 60 taps, pouring craft beers, ciders, red and white wines, along with alcoholic versions of root beer and kombucha. As the beer and wine menu varies, so too will the culinary offerings, encouraging sampling, and ultimately, pairing. Brewport Tap House will feature a full kitchen, open during all business hours that will create an array of entrees, sandwiches, salads and shared plates.

THE “SELF-POUR” CONCEPT

While state-of-art iPourIt technology will be evident, patrons will by no means be on their own as they embark on their culinary adventure. Brewport Tap House will feature a regular staff that will always include a host and certified beer experts on the floor at all times.

Upon their arrival, patrons will be greeted by the Brewport Flight Crew, who will inform them of the multitude of offerings (and options – as carry out items are available as well). After providing a valid ID and credit card, patrons are issued swatch-like wristbands, pre-loaded with credits that may be used for the extensive array of beer, cider, wine and non-alcoholic choices.

Patrons can then access their choices by tapping their wristband on a logo’ed sensor on the tablet for each tap. They are given a description of the product, and can then choose how many ounces they’d like – from a single ounce to a full pour.

With drink in hand, they can mill around, enjoy Brewport’s front and back patios and meet up and socialize with friends. With its vast array of creatively labeled craft beers prominently displayed, Brewport is sure to provide a colorful and unique visual experience.

Carry out Component

Brewport Tap House will occupy a unique niche in the market by offering its customers a comprehensive retail experience. All of its beer, wine and food selections will also be available to go. Very similar to a brewery experience, customers will have the opportunity to come in, taste a new beer, grab a full pour or just opt for a bottle to enjoy at home, as well as make a selection from Brewport’s full kitchen that can be eaten on site or taken home.

About the Brewport, Inc. Team:

KRISTIAN KRIEGER / Partner

A UCLA grad who finished with a degree in geography, but more importantly, spent 5 years (after all, what’s the rush?) organizing dozens upon dozens of fraternity events. That experience lead to years of working in various restaurants – from single independents to large corporations to Hennessey’s Taverns, Inc. Starting as a server, Kristian moved up to bartender before eventually landing in management. Several Assistant Manager gigs were followed by several others as General Manager. Kristian opened and has successfully operated The Tavern on Main in El Segundo for 15 years.

GINA TRABER / Partner

Gina Traber (formerly Gina Villilo) . . . Just a small town girl, living in a beer world. Originally from Ohio, Gina moved to California 9 years ago and is the mother to an amazing two year old named Bruce, (named after Bruce Springsteen). Her love of craft beer was kindled by her first experience with the Great Lakes Brewing Company in Ohio. Gina graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in Business and Public Relations and a minor in marketing. She also holds the distinction of attending Harvard University for one class (. . . literally ONE class) before moving with her husband to California. During her nine year industry career, Gina first started in restaurants, which afforded her the opportunity to venture into the craft beer world. Gina is a Cicerone®- trained “Beer Geek” and works as a Senior Sales rep in the industry.

PAT COX – CFO / Partner, Director

Patrick’s experience as a food & wine industry professional is likely unparalleled, spanning four decades and (literally) from coast to coast. Getting his start as a beer, wine and spirits manager for Peerless Importers in New York, his calling brought him west, where he then embarked on an 18 year career as a Store Team Leader for Whole Foods Markets in Southern California. Pat’s passion and experience with food is the driving force behind Brewport’s Social Dining Experience concept!

ROB RICE – Chef, Partner

In a career spanning the better part of two decades, Chef Rob Rice has cooked casual and fine dining in multiple countries, often for Wolfgang Puck. For the last 3 years has devoted his time and considerable skills to Downtown Los Angeles’ Skid Row’s Midnight Mission. A 1998 graduate of Le Cordon Bleu, his culinary approach is based on fresh, whole ingredients – meals constructed with thoughtful helpings of authentic food.
