Braxton Brewing Celebrates First Year with Limited-Edition Releases

Braxton Brewing Anniversary Releases

Covington, KY – Braxton Brewing Company will be celebrating their One Year Anniversary this Saturday, March 26, from 12pm-1am. In addition to releasing the first ever Trophy Pale Ale 22 oz. bottle, the Covington-based brewery will be releasing Yesterday’s Headlines Kiwi Berliner Weisse and Tequila Barrel Aged Whole Bean Coffee in bottles.

“Making it to one year is no small feat for any entrepreneur, but as we look back at this year our entire team couldn’t be more proud of the progress we’ve made. We want to say ‘thank you’ from the bottom of our hearts to our customers, partners, friends, and family who made this first year something we’ll surely never forget,” said Jake Rouse, Co-Founder & CEO. “To show our appreciation, we’re ready to celebrate with you this Saturday!”

Yesterday’s Headlines is a celebration of the news and announcements that Braxton Brewing Co. made in its first year. The label of this 1-Liter Bottle will highlight those headlines. What’s inside the bottle represents one of the most requested beer styles by our fans — a Berliner Weisse.

Any pre-purchased bottles can be picked up between Saturday, March 26 at 12pm and April 16 at 5pm. Any bottles not pre-purchased will be available for sale at the One Year Anniversary Party while supplies last. There is a strict one bottle per person limit for online and in-person sales.

“We selected to go with a Berliner Weisse for a couple reasons,” said Co-Founded and Head Brewer, Evan Rouse. “When we asked for your feedback on what we should brew next, this style was at the top of the list. We were able to put our brewhouse to the test and try a few new techniques we had not used before. This beer exceeded my expectations and looks beautiful bottled. I am beyond excited to get this and all the other new releases available for you at the One Year Anniversary — come party with us, it’s bound to be a great day.”

Tequila Barrel Aged Whole Bean Coffee is the next step in the company’s Starter Coffee initiative. Braxton Brewing Company partnered with Carabello Coffee out of Newport, Kentucky to create a proprietary coffee blend called Starter. This coffee supports the company’s co-working space that is available Tuesday-Friday beginning at 8am. For this barrel-aged project, the two companies used a Mexican coffee bean and aged it in Tequila Barrels before roasting it in Newport and bottling it at Braxton.

This Maragogype, or “Elephant,” bean is larger than most whole beans and features tasting notes of vanilla and caramel with undertones of oak and chocolate. It’s a medium bodied cup with a sweetness that lingers. Only 300 bottles are available. They will be sold at the Anniversary Party, on Braxton’s website, as well as, Carabello Coffee’s website.

Both of these bottles will be available in addition to the first bottled variation of Trophy Pale Ale. This batch, the second of 2016, will feature Palisade hops. This hop variety has apricot, floral, and citrus tasting notes. The Trophy 22 oz. bottles will be available for purchase at the Anniversary party. There is no bottle limit. A very limited amount of bottles will be available in Braxton’s Northern Kentucky retail partners.

Braxton Brewing will continue to donate 5% of all Trophy sales to Northern Kentucky Community projects. At their party, Braxton will be awarding their first-ever Trophy Grant.

The bottle releases will begin at 12p at the Anniversary Party. The Party will also feature nine new beers on draft. 1st Gear Belgian IPA, Catalyst Czech Pilsner, and Yesterday’s Headlines Berliner Weisse will be available. Each beer will also have two variants. All beers will be $5.50. No growler fills and no flights.

Live music will be taking place throughout the event. Buffalo Wabs & The Price Hill Hustle will kick the party off at noon. The Tillers take the stage at 3pm. Motherfolk, who headlined the company’s Block Party in December and played at last summer’s Bunbury, will play at 6pm. Red Wanting Blue will headline the party at 9pm. The national touring band will bring their Midwestern Rock to Braxton Brewing Company.
