Black Diamond Brewing Expands Distribution to New Mexico

Albuquerque, NM. Black Diamond Brewing Company of Concord, California is pleased to announce Black Diamond’s debut in New Mexico. Two tasting and meet the brewer events, July 15 and 16, 2014, will introduce Black Diamond’s award-winning artisan beers. Head Brewer Paul Mallory, an Albuquerque native, will talk about the beers and why he’s excited to bring his brews to his hometown and state.

The first event, Tuesday, July 15 is at the Barley Room Bar & Grill from 6-8 p.m. The Barley Room is located at 5200 Eubank Blvd NE. The second event will be on Wednesday, July 16 at Jubilation Wine & Spirits from 4-6 p.m. Jubilation is at 3512 Lomas Blvd NE, the corner of Lomas and Carlisle. Both evenings, Mallory will sample several of Black Diamond’s bottled beers.

“We used to do ridiculous things to get our beer to my parents and friends — like loading cases into friends’ cars for the trip from Concord to Albuquerque,” says Mallory. “So of course it’s natural for us to come to New Mexico, where I’m from. Plus it’s meaningful for me to bring my beer to the place where my friends and family can drink and buy it.”

Black Diamond Brewing Company specializes in West Coast style, hop forward beers, Belgian style ales and barrel-aged beers. Its flagship brews are Rampage Imperial IPA, Peak XV Imperial Porter, and Moesaic Session IPA. Check local stores and bottle shops for particular varieties. Black Diamond beers will be for sale at the tasting events.

Black Diamond’s awards include the 2013 Great American Beer Festival Bronze for its Belgian Dark Strong Ale — “The 12”; Great American Beer Festival 2011 Bronze for Dried Up Old Geezer; 2010 World Beer Cup Gold for Steep Trail Amber and 2008 World Beer Cup Silver for its FreeSyle Blonde.

About Black Diamond Brewing Company

Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, Black Diamond Brewing Company is an artisan’s brewery located 30 miles northeast of San Francisco in Concord, CA, near the confluence of the mighty Sacramento Delta rivers and the majestic Mt. Diablo. The brewery name comes from the local coalmines where, during the 19th and early 20th centuries, nearly 4 million tons of “black diamonds” were removed from the earth. The mining town residents came from all over the world, and celebrations were important to help sustain the dedicated miners. Beer became a favorite beverage. This spirit of hard work and celebration of life is at the core of Black Diamond Brewing’s philosophy. Opened in 1994 as a brewpub in Walnut Creek, CA, Black Diamond provided a unique blend of ales and quality food and entertainment for 10 years. As the passion for producing great beer dominated, the brewpub closed and then immediately reopened as a full-fledged brewery in 2005. Black Diamond beers can now be found in 12 states.
