Aeronaut Brewing Company to Release Limited-Edition Cans of Flagship IPA

SOMERVILLE, MA — Aeronaut Brewing Company announced today the launch of a month-long initiative to raise awareness of science and its role in society by fundraising for grassroots science festivals across the U.S.

Partnering with the Cambridge-based Science Festival Alliance, Aeronaut is leading the charge to make science more accessible on a national scale. Working with their returning can artist, Raul Gonzalez III, Aeronaut has created limited-edition 4-packs of their flagship IPA, “A Year With Dr. Nandu”. These cans tell an epic story with four artworks inspired by NASA’s Voyager space mission.

In addition to the exclusive, limited-edition cans available in the brewery, Aeronaut will also be selling custom-designed T-shirts and postcards online to support the cause and encourage civic engagement. 100% of proceeds from cans and apparel will be invested in four locally-run science festivals located in Pensacola, FL, Bowling Green, KY, Downey, CA and Jackson, MS.

“Science made Aeronaut possible, and we will fight to make it an accessible and joyful experience for children and adults nationwide,” says Ben Holmes, CEO and Co-Founder of Aeronaut Brewing Company. “Together with the Science Festival Alliance, we are investing in the tools that will empower people to cherish their world, live out their dreams, and contribute to their home communities.”

The Aeronaut family has a history with science and education. Before Aeronaut, Holmes worked on space mission Cassini at NASA and taught physics in Doha, Qatar. His co-founders also come from science backgrounds, and science informs beer design and decision-making at Aeronaut. Additionally, a majority of the company’s bartenders and staff are also scientists, making this cause one that’s near and dear.

Aeronaut hopes to raise $4,000 to support the Science Festival Alliance. The special, limited-edition cans can be purchased at Aeronaut Brewing Company in Somerville for $16, and T-shirts can be purchased online for $20. The campaign will run from April 22 through May 22, 2017.
