Swift Cider, an urban craft cidery, has grown their distribution by partnering with Kendall’s Pioneer Distributing of Kelso, Washington. After five years of selling cider in Oregon, Swift will now be available in ten southwestern Washington counties: Clark, Cowlitz, Grays Harbor, Klickitat, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, Skamania, Thurston and Wahkiakum. The new partnership between Swift and Kendall’s Pioneer comes at a time when cider continues a six year boom across the country, but it can still be hard for find a local craft cider outside of the major urban centers like Portland and Seattle.
Swift Cider releases the Portland Pippin into the wild this week, making it the first single-varietal, 100% Brett fermented cider on the market. Swift is an urban craft cidery known for their award-winning line of dry and semi-dry ciders made with minimally processed local ingredients.
Less than one week after BrewDog founders James Watt and Martin Dickie announced plans to gamble investors’ money at a roulette table, the Scottish craft beer entrepreneurs appear to have temporarily pulled the plug on the stunt. “The powers that be don’t seem to like gambling as much as we do,” BrewDog wrote in a blog post on the brewery’s website. “We are in discussions regarding the future of BrewDog’s Big Bet. Stay tuned for further updates.”

The latest addition to the company’s Craft Brewer Series was developed in partnership with San Diego-based Stone Brewing to bring the legendary Stone Pale Ale recipe to home brewers worldwide.
The “Uncharted Waters” Series by Heavy Seas Beer will soon welcome the 2017 edition of Siren Noire. This limited release will be available in January in all states where Heavy Seas beer is distributed.
Cambrian Innovation, a commercial provider of distributed wastewater treatment and resource recovery solutions for industrial facilities, today announced that one of the nation’s fastest growing craft breweries, Lagunitas Brewing Company, will be the first to use Cambrian’s novel water-energy purchase agreement (WEPA). Under the WEPA, a first for the industrial wastewater treatment industry, Cambrian will leverage its award-winning EcoVolt product suite to bring Lagunitas onsite wastewater treatment and renewable energy generation as a service. At zero money down, and with Cambrian monetizing all environmental benefits, the WEPA will save the brewery a projected $22.5 million over its lifecycle.

According to a new study from market research firm IRI Worldwide, alcohol producers shouldn’t ignore Generation X or Baby Boomers in the chase for Millennials’ dollars. Released Tuesday, the study examines generational trends of U.S. alcoholic beverage consumers. The market research firm reported that Boomers (45 percent of overall beer, wine and spirits dollars) and Generation Xers (20 percent of all alcohol dollars) represent too great of a piece of the marketplace to ignore.
On Friday, December 9th, Nantahala Brewing Company will release 22 ounce bottles of Sticky Dog Stout, a 6% ABV export stout. The third beer in the brewery’s Myths & Legends Series, Sticky Dog Stout is named for the fabled monster who was said to reside in the mountains of the Great Smoky Mountains.
