When River North’s fourth anniversary passed in February, the brewery was still readying its new facility. Now that the Washington Street location is open, it’s time for a belated birthday beer. On Friday, May 27th at 4pm, River North will release Anniversary Ale 4 ¼ (say “four-and-a-quarter”), an imperial saison aged in Manhattan cocktail barrels. The anniversary celebration will continue throughout the weekend with food trucks and River North beers both classic and new.

Don’t call it a comeback. Less than six months after exile from its original home – thanks to Denver’s insatiable real estate development – River North Brewery returns with new digs and a quest for vengeance…or just brewing. On Saturday, April 2nd, the brewery will open its new expanded facility at 6021 Washington Street, Unit A in Denver. At close to 9,000 square feet, the new location is double the size of the original. It includes a new brewhouse, more tanks, and a larger taproom.

River North Brewery’s most revered beer release of the year, Barrel Aged Avarice, will land on Colorado store shelves starting today. A Belgian-style imperial stout aged in whiskey barrels, Barrel Aged Avarice always serves as the brewery’s last release of the year. Copious amounts of dark roasted barley and chocolate malt lend a jet black liquid canvas, while Belgian yeast keeps the beer dry and quaffable. A full year’s rest in freshly-emptied barrels elevates Barrel Aged Avarice to a whole new level of decadence.

One of River North’s most anticipated releases in recent memory, Nightmare Fuel, will appear on store shelves this week. A 13.5% ABV imperial stout brewed with fresh-roasted whole bean coffee, Nightmare Fuel combines two of the finest brewed beverages in the universe.

On October 24, River North Brewery will bid a final farewell to its original location at 2401 Blake Street in Denver. The brewery’s building was recently slated for demolition to make way for an apartment redevelopment in one of Denver’s hottest neighborhoods, River North, for which the brewery is named.

On Saturday, September 26th, River North Brewery will release Corundum, a tart Belgian-style red ale aged in cabernet wine barrels with tart cherries and hibiscus flowers.

On Saturday, River North Brewery will release Big City Quad, a Belgian-style Quadrupel aged in two types of classic whiskey cocktail barrels: Manhattan and Boulevardier.

River North Brewing is being forced out of the emergent Denver neighborhood it’s both named after and has called home since opening three and a half years ago. As reported by Westword, the company is closing its taproom and production brewery this October as the building’s owners have decided to raze the structure and construct, in its place, a luxury apartment complex.

This Saturday August 29th at 1pm, River North Brewery will release Fancy Effing Stout, an imperial stout aged in Manhattan cocktail barrels. These rare casks formerly held rye whiskey, sweet vermouth and a dash of bitters.

In a beer world rife with barrel-aged options, River North Brewery continues to push the envelope.

Deep within their towers of aging barrels, River North’s brewers uncovered a hidden gem.

River North Brewery has been filling and stacking barrels all year, getting ready for a latter half of 2015 rife with special releases. But first, the brewery is bringing back its original barrel-aged brew, Whiskey Barrel J. Marie!

Last summer, River North Brewery released a single batch of Tripel. Within two weeks, it was gone, leaving everyone – including River North’s brewers – craving more.

On Saturday, May 30th, River North Brewery will release Cabernet Barrel Aged J. Marie, their signature imperial saison aged in freshly emptied Cabernet Sauvignon barrels from California. The brewery will host a release party at 1pm in their taproom at 2401 Blake Street in Denver.
