Variety is the spice of life, or so they say. Well, New Realm knows a little something about variety, having brewed over 180 unique beers in their first two years alone. Having brewed around the block a few times, they’ve now cooked up something special – a rotating collection of beers in one variety 12 pack.

Here, we believe in a New Realm of thinking, doing and most importantly brewing. We ask questions. Rethink tradition. Bend the rules. Reconfigure boundaries. What we do next all comes down to one simple pursuit: to never become stale in any sense or style.
New Realm Brewing Company is an American craft brewery started in 2016 by co-founders Carey Falcone, Bob Powers and Mitch Steele. On a mission to rethink tradition and bend the rules, the team planted their first production facility in a 20,000-square foot space on Atlanta’s east side Beltline trail in December of 2017, featuring a 25hl brewhouse, 3,000-square foot restaurant, rooftop patio and beer garden. A second location opened in Virginia Beach in the middle of 2018 enabling New Realm to increase their ability to innovate and create new beers. The Virginia Beach location is a 58,000-square foot space with a 50bbl brewhouse. Like Atlanta, the second location features a large outdoor beer garden, private event space and restaurant. New Realm’s core principles are quality, creativity, authenticity, and striving for perfection, all with a customer-centric commitment and approach.
New Realm’s recent awards include: Brewbound’s 2018 “Rising Star” brewery, Ratebeer’s 2018 “Best New Brewer in Georgia,” Ratebeer’s 2018 11th “Best New Brewer in the World”, and Virginia Craft Beer Cup’s gold medal and “Best in Show” for Euphonia Pilsner. Brewmaster Mitch Steele was awarded the Russell Scherer Award for Innovation in Brewing in 2014 and co-authored the book IPA: Brewing Techniques, Recipes and the Evolution of India Pale Ale in 2012.

Atlanta will soon reach sweltering temps, making summer days and nights nearly unbearable. A new collaboration between two Atlanta based tastemakers, King of Pops and New Realm Brewing, aims to cool things down in and around town. The first in the “Push Cart Series,” BGL Belgian Ale is bursting with refreshing notes of blackberry, ginger, and lemon.
Just in time for warmer weather, this new crushable craft lager arrives in year-round six-packs and draft. Key Lime Pie lovers can now have their pie and drink it too as New Realm Brewing prepares to release its first Gose, “Lime of the Party” this month. This sour ale started out as a limited, draft only release at the brewery taproom and select bars and restaurants in fall 2018, but its popularity earned it a new life in 2019.
There is something wildly hazy and crazy juicy flowing through the tanks at New Realm Brewing. The people have spoken, so the brewers are ramping up production and canning away.
Count Brooklyn Brewery among the growing number of beer companies that has its eyes on the health and wellness space. During last week’s Brewbound Live business conference, Brooklyn Brewery CEO Eric Ottaway said the company was on the verge of releasing a non-alcoholic beer in Sweden as the company looks to tap into increasing consumer demand for more alcohol-free brews.
New Realm’s anticipated Beltline-adjacent beer garden is now open, offering 85 additional seats for outdoor casual entertainment. Atlantans can now literally step off of the Beltline’s east side trail and sip on a craft beer with friends while they watch the hustle and bustle of the busy Beltline pass by.
In the second episode of the Brewbound Podcast, New Realm Brewing co-founder Carey Falcone joins Brewbound editor Chris Furnari in a discussion about his career in the brewing business and the launch of the Atlanta-based beer company. Throughout the conversation, Falcone talks about his experience as a first-time entrepreneur, New Realm’s core values, the process of getting the brewery off the ground, and how he convinced former Stone Brewing Company brewmaster Mitch Steele to move across the country to join a startup in the South.
As the U.S. brewing industry inches closer to a record 7,000 craft beer companies in operation, hundreds of distressed breweries are expected to close in 2019 and many of those failed enterprises will turn to asset auctions as a way to pay off debt. Brewers Association chief economist Bart Watson told Brewbound during a live-streamed interview at last week’s California Craft Brewers Association Summit that he anticipates as many as 300 brewery closures by the end of 2018. According to Watson, he expects the gap between openings and closings to shrink over time, and there could be as many as 500 closures in the next couple of years. The increasing number of brewery closures has also meant an uptick in business for auction houses.
