Denver’s River North District is developing so fast that it pushed out one of its pioneers. Matthew and Jessica Hess’ River North Brewery was forced to move out of its namesake neighborhood when the property’s landlord decided to transform the space into luxury condos and apartments.

Short’s Brewing Company of Bellaire, MI and Funky Buddha Brewery of Oakland Park, FL will be making history this weekend at the sold out Extreme Beer Fest event in Boston, February 5th and 6th. The breweries have worked together to create a beer, named Tip ta Tip, that was inspired by an Old Fashioned, each one creating a component of the cocktail-inspired brew. The two will be combined for the first time on-site at Extreme Beer Fest.

Funky Buddha is brewing up something special yet again – this time, in the kitchen. The brewery announces today its plans to build Craft Food Counter & Kitchen inside it’s Oakland Park tap room.

January and February were brutal months for industry-wide beer shipments, which declined 6.9 percent, according to the Beer Institute. As harsh winter storms and cold weather ransacked the northeast into early March, DC Brau CEO Brandon Skall stared at tanks full of beer and nowhere to put it.
