Boston Beer Co. is expanding its Barrel Room collection, rolling out the series nationwide this week. Previously only available in select markets, the Barrel Room collection currently consists of four offerings, all packaged in 750mL cork finished bottles.

Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world’s largest brewer, will acquire Mexico’s biggest beer company, Grupo Modelo, in a deal valued at $20.1 billion. It’s the second biggest beer deal since the Belgium-based InBev acquired Anheuser-Busch for $52 billion back in 2008.
Sierra Nevada announced (via it’s facebook page) yesterday that the second installment of the Beer Camp Variety Pack offerings will hit shelves in mid-August. This year’s mixed 12-pack includes four different offerings – Oatmeal Stout, Imperial Pilsner, Floral IPA and Imperial Red Ale.

On Monday, Grupo Modelo confirmed reports that it was in acquisition talks with global brewing giant Anheuser-Busch InBev. UBS, the financial services company headquartered in Switzerland, released a 23-page report assessing the potential deal. UBS sees the acquisition as “strategically compelling,” calling it a “classic” ABI deal.
Craft Business Daily is reporting that San Diego, Calif.- based Green Flash Brewing Company will build an East Coast location by January of 2015. The subscription-based industry newsletter said that Green Flash has yet to decide on a final location, but has narrowed the search to three coastal cities.
Following the July Fourth weekend, Karl Strauss Brewing Co. will send its first shipments of Red Trolley Ale and Tower 10 IPA into Northern California, marking the first time in the company’s 23-year history that its beers will be available for regular distribution outside of Southern California.
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the world’s biggest brewer – Anheuser-Busch InBev – is close to inking a multi-billion dollar deal to purchase Grupo Modelo, the makers of Corona. The deal is estimated to cost AB InBev $12 billion. The company already owns 50.2 percent of Modelo.
