  • Compared to a year ago, total On Premise outlet count is in growth, with Drinking-lead establishments seeing growth from Neighborhood bars and Sports bars, and QSR behind the bulk of Eating-lead channel growth.
  • We saw downward trends from casual nightclubs and premium bars. These changes could reflect a shift in daypart preferences among younger consumers towards day-time visitation and seeking “premium” experiences in more convenient, everyday venues (such as the Neighborhood bar)
  • Consumers have confirmed they value their On Premise visits and most do not want to sacrifice their visitation due to less discretionary spending.
  • However, there may be some rebalancing of “premiumization” – where Polished casual and Neighborhood bars (both in growth in terms of outlet count) are now catering to this premium occasion through more quality offerings while simultaneously catering to a wider range of options from food/drink (e.g. budget options) and potentially more convenience.
  • RTDs, while certainly a small % of total share, have shown high growth compared to traditional categories, while Beer and Wine gained.
  • We have generally seen a shift from package to draft across beer categories but see the largest coming from the Import subsegment, outpacing Craft and Domestic premium.
