Hopsters Celebrates First Anniversary

Newton, MA — In celebration of its first anniversary, Hopsters, Boston area’s first and only custom craft brewery, announces the release of three flagship beers, a Belgian table beer, an IPA and a Tripel ale, crafted by new Head Brewer, Jeff Rowe.

Available on tap and for retail purchase in specialty 750ml champagne crown capped glass bottles, Hopsters’ three hand-crafted styles aim to please a variety of pallets, as they range from a lighter table beer with Endless Vacation, to a deep, rich, earthy beer with the Market Square Tripel. Hopsters’ signature styles include:

  • Endless Vacation (ABV: 4.0%) – $7.99

A Belgian-inspired table beer with a plush straw haze, followed by a unique, refreshing hop character.

  • Imperialist IPA (ABV: 7.6%) – $9.99

A west coast Imperial IPA with a blend of assertive hops that brings a refreshing citrus aroma followed by a warm, malty backbone.

  • Market Square Tripel (ABV: 9.4%) – $10.99

A deep golden, traditional Belgian strong ale. Floral and sweet-with noble hops adding notes of earth and grass.

“Since the acquisition of our commercial brewing license back in June, we’ve been hard at work experimenting with various ingredients and flavors and to come up with our first round of three solid styles that we think beer drinkers will really enjoy,” said Jeff Rowe, Head Brewer of Hopsters. “We have a true passion for craft beer at Hopsters and we’re excited that we can serve and sell our own small-batch styles to craft beer focused premium retail establishments. This is just the beginning and we look forward to rolling out even more.”

Hopsters opened its doors in September 2013, with a 10 kettle on-premise area for patrons to reserve individual or group brewing sessions, led by Hopsters’ assistant brewers. Within three months, a full bar was added to the space, offering one of the largest menu selections of New England craft beer, with over 20 rotating draft beers on tap. In June 2014, Hopsters acquired its commercial brewing license and began serving its house made ales on tap.

In addition to serving and selling on-premise, Hopsters is planning a limited exclusive distribution of the bottled flagship beers to a select number of premier bars, restaurants and retailers in the Greater Boston area.
