VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Ynot Pizza & Italian Cuisine welcomes Green Flash Brewing Co. to the Hampton Roads community and is proud to be the namesake and exclusive retailer for the specialty craft brewery’s first local beer release — Green Flash Ynot Session IPA. Green Flash has confirmed plans for a fall 2014 groundbreaking for their 2nd brewing facility in Virginia Beach located on General Booth Boulevard. The new brewery is slated to open in 2016 as the San Diego-born organization expands to more efficiently ship beer east of the Mississippi. Upon opening, the 58,000-square-ft. facility will be the largest brewery in Virginia, and will introduce over 40 new jobs (Virginia Beach Economic Development) to the region.
Ynot Session IPA will debut as the first Green Flash locals-only beer release, available in Hampton Roads at Ynot Pizza & Italian Cuisine and in San Diego in the Green Flash Tasting Room on draft only. In celebration ofVirginia Craft Beer Month, Ynot Pizza & Italian Cuisine will tap Ynot Session IPA throughout August at each of their 5 locations in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake and Norfolk.
A Session IPA is known for its hop-dominant flavor profile at a lower, or “sessionable,” level of alcohol. Green Flash is well-known for crafting extreme hoppy IPA styles including West Coast IPA┬«, a double IPA which has been credited with putting this quintessential San Diego beer style on the map. The Green Flash version of a session IPA will deliver the same intensely hoppy flavors for which Green Flash ales are most well-known.
