Flying Dog Releasing New “Brewhouse Rarities” Series in 2012

FREDERICK, MD – In the words of Hunter S. Thompson, Flying Dog’s new series of limited-edition releases are “too weird to live, too rare to die.”

The Brewhouse Rarities series will feature 10 new beers in 2012, each the brainchild of an individual brewer at Flying Dog. The first release, an Imperial Hefeweizen, will be available at the beginning of January. Other planned styles include:

  • Black Lager with Cherries
  • Abbey Dubbel
  • Sour Cherry
  • Red Ale
  • Gose
  • Nut Brown
  • Weizenbock
  • Gruit
  • Belgian Strong

“Our brewers are constantly experimenting with new beers on our pilot brew system,” Brewmaster and COO Matt Brophy said. “For this new series, we made their experimentation official and only gave one guideline: Push the boundaries of conventional beer styles.”

The Brewhouse Rarities releases will be available on draft only in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. The Imperial Hefeweizen will premiere on Thursday, January 5 at Max’s Taphouse in Baltimore, MD.
