Figueroa Mountain Brewing Celebrates 4th Anniversary

fig mntn 210Buellton, California Four years ago, Figueroa Mountain Brewing Company was a small operation producing only 100 barrels of craft beer per year. Recently they hit a milestone with new tanks, new taprooms and an increase in annual production to 20,000 barrels. This year they have a lot to celebrate. On Saturday, November 29, FigMtnBrew will celebrate their fourth anniversary in their flagship brewery and beer garden with a party and bottle release. Mug Club members will be invited to enjoy the event from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM before the party is opened up to the public from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Entertainment includes games and contests plus live music from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the beer garden with bands such as the Stiff Pickle Orchestra and the Molly Ringwald Project will be performing from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the taproom. The Pairing Knife food truck will be on premise with their popular BBQ and grilled cheese sandwiches, mac-n-cheese and more. Admission is free to the event; beer and food are sold separately. Shuttle service from Santa Barbara will be provided by Jump on the School Bus for $15 leaving at noon and returning at 5:00 PM.

“This is an extra special year for us,” exclaims Buellton Taproom Manager, David Esdaile, referring to the brewery’s substantial growth. “We consider ourselves a family and we’ve grown our family substantially this year with new employees, Mug Club members and customers.”

“Thanks to the support of our customers and hard work from all of the staff, we have grown our Fig family and increased our portfolio to a remarkable array of award-winning beers,” adds CEO and President Jaime Dietenhofer who recently celebrated both a Gold and Silver award from the Great American Beer Festival, a very high honor in the industry. “We enjoy coming out with specialty beers throughout the year and our Anniversary Ale is a chance for our brewers to commemorate another year of success.”

The 4th Anniversary Ale releasing this month is a Belgian-style Abbey Quadrupel with figs. Crafted in the traditional style of Trappist monastery breweries, this year’s Anniversary Ale was aged in oak barrels with figs: an ancient and sacred fruit. “This massive dark beer is heady with dark fruit aromas along with deep caramel notes and a deep malt backbone. The delicate spiciness of the traditional Belgian yeast adds character along with influence from the oak barrels producing an overall complexity,” says Director of Brewing Operations, Mike Hastings.

Boasting an impressive 11% alcohol by volume, this beer will age well and hold its own for any holiday celebration. Bottles and gift packs will also be available for purchase during the 4th Anniversary party in Buellton on November 29th and then in their Los Olivos, Santa Barbara and Santa Maria taprooms on the following day: November 30th, 2014.
