BITBURG, GERMANY (March 27, 2025) – Bitburger, one of the largest private and family-owned breweries in Germany founded over 200 years ago, is launching a new packaging format for its flagship pilsner in the United States. Starting this April, fans of the legacy beer can pick up a 12-pack of Bitburger Pilsner cans (11.2 oz / 330ml) at retailers nationwide.
Brewed in strict accordance with the German Purity Law — or Reinheitsgebot — Bitburger Pils (4.8% ABV) is a light straw-colored pilsner with a lasting foam head. The beer has earthy notes with a nutty and honeyed aftertaste, finishing dry with a pleasant bitterness that showcases the beer’s proprietary hop blend, Siegelhopfen, grown 30 miles from the brewery. Currently available in six-pack bottles (11.2oz), four-pack cans (16.9oz), and 12-pack bottles (11.2oz), the roll-out of Bitburger Pilsner in 12-pack cans this April will replace the 12-pack bottle packaging as part of a greater sustainability strategy for the brewery.
“For the past three years, Bitburger has been on an upward sales trajectory and has become the number three German import brand, outpacing the German subsegment in both dollar and volume sales. The foundation for this growth is being driven by our four-pack cans and the beer consumer rediscovering high quality imports. Our multipack launch is the next step to continue to build on this great momentum. We want everyone to join us in saying, ‘Bitte ein Bit!’ which translates to ‘Please, another Bitburger!,’”says Scott Baver, US Country Director for Bitburger.
The new 12-pack will be widely available in retailers from New York to California. Suggested retail price is $18.99. For consumers looking to pick up Bitburger, availability is updated daily on findbitburger.com.
