Asheville, NC — Wicked Weed Brewing has announced the release of Juiceless IPA, a collaboration with Creature Comforts Brewing Co. based in Athens, Georgia. Juiceless will be released on Saturday, August 27th at Wicked Weed’s Funkatorium location. Following the initial release, Juiceless will be distributed in Atlanta and Athens, Georgia as well as throughout North Carolina starting on September 1st.
Creature Comforts and Wicked Weed decided to collaborate on a beer after working with one another on last year’s Beer Camp Across America twelve pack. “We’ve been impressed by Wicked Weed ever since they opened,” said David Stein, Head Brewer and Co-Founder of Creature Comforts Brewing Co. “We are good friends, have mutual respect for each other’s beers, and we’re in neighboring states, so doing this collaboration came very naturally and was only a matter of time.”
Juiceless is an interesting take on the popular fruited IPA style as it is a fruit-forward beer without any actual fruit in it. This beer contains a large amount of wheat to add a mouth feel and haze similar to a fruited IPA as well as premium hops that add fruit flavor. “Both breweries have done many collaborations and almost all of them contain fruit. We wanted to push ourselves creatively to create a fruit-forward, juicy IPA using only the four main ingredients in beer,” said Luke Dickinson, Owner and Head Brewer of Wicked Weed Brewing.
The release of Juiceless will mark Wicked Weed’s entrance into the Athens, GA market. “We hadn’t sold beer in Athens yet,” said Luke Dickinson, “so it just made sense that to enter that market, we should work with the best brewery there.”
Wicked Weed’s Launch into the Athens market will begin Wednesday, September 7th at the following locations:
- September 7th – Catch 22 – Beer Dinner and Tap Takeover
- September 8th – Trapeze Pub – Tap Takeover
- September 9th – Grindhouse Killer Burgers – Tap Takeover
In addition, there will be Wicked Weed and Creature Comforts events throughout Atlanta in the following weeks celebrating the release of the collaboration.
