Ventura, CA –  Surf Brewery, a small commercial craft brewery, celebrating five years, with an onsite tasting room and homebrew shop, announced that just in time for strawberry season, they are releasing their Strawberry Wahine Wheat Ale.  Named after the term used for a surf chick, Wahine, the strawberry version of their seasonal wheat beer has become a fan favorite. KCET in Los Angeles rated it one of the top six summer beers in California in 2015.

With Ventura County known for growing amazing fruit, Surf Brewery, has incorporated a few local options, lemon, strawberry, and grapefruit,  into a light American Wheat Ale, making a refreshing an indigenous brew.  This year, fresh whole strawberries from Oxnard Berry Farms were used along with natural flavors to provide the slightly bitter flavor of strawberry and amazing fruity aroma.  Available on draft and in the bottle for the next several months.

With the recent announcement of distribution into Northern California for the first time, Head Dude, Bill Riegler mentions, “Now this local favorite can be found throughout California at select bottle shops and markets.  Proud to be based in Ventura County, your small local brewery, Surf is rising! ”
