Marietta, GA — VicinityBrew Software is proud to announce the recently launched integration with SkuBrain, demand forecasting software, from Halo BI. The integration was made available for craft breweries on January 1, 2017.
VicinityBrew and Halo BI launched the integrated offering at Brewbound’s Session in San Diego on December 1st. VicinityBrew is proud to have sponsored Brewbound Sessions for the past four years.
VicinityBrew Brewery Management Software delivers solutions built to help craft breweries automate production management and connect departments from scheduling, operations, finance, sales and distribution. By centralizing data, VicinityBrew is able to deliver tighter inventory controls, improved costing, and streamlined reporting.
“The integration is great! Super easy to bounce the information over to SkuBrain rather than my crazy files that could get messed up with one single typo,” — Matt McComish, Distribution Manager
“One of VicinityBrew’s goals is to help breweries be less reliant on static disconnected pieces of information. Prior to SkuBrain VicinityBrew was able to read a forecast from Excel to drive out production demands. The new integration will allow brewers to manage their forecast in SKU Brain and push the data to Vicinity with the touch of a button. SkuBrain offers enhanced forecasting capabilities with direct connections to their Brewery Management solution to speed up the planning process by driving data directly into proposed production,” – Randy Smith, CEO, VicinityBrew Software
SKU Brain can read sales history from VicinityBrew to create a proposed forecast based on historical sales trends. A brewer can use standard forecasting models selected by the system using a tournament model. When complete, the planner has the ability to make adjustments to their account for additional or outside factors to optimize the model to fit their brewery’s unique data. SkuBrain mirrors VicinityBrew’s unit of measure flexibility, allowing users to roll up quantities, review sales and measure demand by SKU and forecast by brite beer. The forecasting solution can automatically convert between various measurements, such as cases, kegs, and barrels.
“The VicinityBrew™ partnership is a key to our strategy of offering better analytical tools in easy-to-use software for beverage companies that may not have the resources of their larger global competitors,” said Keith Peterson, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer, Halo. “Many beverage companies today are reliant on best guess forecasting or using spreadsheets that require manual processing and are error-prone. This is especially difficult in fast growth markets like craft, where new SKUs and flavors are a constant. SkuBrain uses the latest machine learning techniques to recommend the best forecast for each product and channel. It offers capabilities for mature brands as well as new product introductions.”
Once a forecast is finalized, data can easily be pushed to VicinityBrew to drive out Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and a subsequent production schedule. Automating data connections by integrating VicinityBrew and SKU Brain helps reinforce data validity, eliminate human error, and speed up data processing, through bypassing a manual import/export.
