Healdsburg, CA – Sonoma Cider, producer of the only full line of organic hard ciders in the U.S., is proud to announce the launch of its new Limited Run cider series, a collection of small batch, off-dry ciders showcasing unique flavor infusions. Father-son duo and founders, David and Robert Cordtz, will launch the series with The Washboard, a cider infused with organic vanilla and real sarsaparilla root. Approximately 2,300 cases of The Washboard will be available on Draft and in 12-ounce four-bottle packs for $9.99. The Washboard will debut in select markets on April 15, 2015.
Co-founder, Cidermaker and VP of Operations, Robert Cordtz, comments, “These Limited Run ciders will showcase our innovative approach to cider making. We want to push the envelope of the cider category by experimenting with a variety of the finest organic ingredients to create truly unique flavor profiles. The Washboard’s organic sarsaparilla root from India imparts a mild earthy flavor, which is offset by warm, creamy notes of vanilla and caramel. We are already planning future releases and are excited about introducing more out-of-the-box flavors in months to come.”
The Washboard will be available in the following markets: California, Washington D.C., Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Ohio, North Carolina and Washington.
Sonoma Cider is taking a decidedly different approach to reaching the direct-to-consumer channel as well. In addition to traditional retail sales channels, the cidery recently partnered with
The Minibar and Thirstie, home delivery services that allow users to order beverages through their smartphones. These delivery apps offer producers in the beverage arena an alternative route to reach customers. The Minibar and Thirstie deliver Sonoma Cider to the San Francisco Bay area, with other cities coming soon.
