DURANGO, Colo. — It’s official! Ska Brewing Company and Stone Brewing Co. will be brewing a beer together this Friday, January 30 at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Liberty Station. This beer will be one of the 50 once-in-a lifetime beers available at Collaboration Fest. Collaboration Fest is the headline event of Colorado Craft Beer Week and takes place on March 21 from 3 – 7 p.m. at Sports Authority Field at Mile High (1701 Bryant St. Denver CO 80204).

“Collaboration Fest is such a great event and really highlights the community within the craft beer industry,” said Dave Thibodeau, founder of Ska Brewing Company. “Ska has been working with Stone for years and being able to show off our relationship on a stage like this is the best anniversary party.”

Ska and Stone’s relationship goes back more than a decade. The two breweries currently distribute each other’s beer in their home regions and have similar goals and values. When Ska asked Stone to collaborate on this beer it was an easy sell, or it may have just been a ploy to hangout with some friends at the beach.

Sean McKesson, a former Stone brewer, had recently joined the Ska team and had an idea for a collaboration beer, a Tripel Tripple brewed with Bagstonge Belgian Ale yeast. Coming up with a name was easy, “The Mighty Mighty Bastogne.”

The idea for this beer has been set. The next steps, brewing, will take place on a 10-barrel brewhouse located at Stone’s second restaurant and brewery in the Point Loma neighborhood of San Diego this Friday, January 30.

Tickets for Collaboration Fest are on sale now at CollaborationFest.com.

Ska and Stone will host a Meet the Brewer event Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., taking place at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Liberty Station’s Garden Bar.
