Hat’s off to Odell for innovation on its newest Single Serve series of beers, Friek. A hybrid of the Kriek and framboise styles of beer, this offering pushes the envelope on what makes a “beer.” Fermented with a combination of yeasts (some wild), pediococcus and lactobacillus, this beer packs a nice sour flavor. Friek is a dark ruby-red, almost purple color, with virtually no head and a more champagne-like bubbly that fizzes its way to the top as your pour.
