Pikes Peak Brewing Releases 38 Faces IPA

Monument, Colorado — Pikes Peak Brewing Company is releasing a new series of canned year round beer, 38 Faces IPA. The first edition, an IPA brewed with Blood Orange puree, will be available in six packs and draft throughout Colorado starting in October.

38 Faces is named for the 38 keystones that adorn the arched windows of the 1903 El Paso County courthouse, now home to the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum (CSPM). At first glance each of these American Indian sculptures appear to be the same, but at closer inspection they each have their own unique personality and character. Each Cotopaxi lava rock face is adorned with ornamentation ranging from ample leaves to rose

buds to stylized fruit.

Sharing a common heritage but expressing an individual personality, each sculpture expresses its individual personality. Every edition of this IPA is similarly unique. Each edition will be crafted using a common malt backbone while highlighting a new and different flavor through the varied use of hops, ingredients, yeast or processes – bringing a unique face to the traditional IPA.

“This beer will combine a seasonal beer with the ever popular IPA style,” said Chris Wright, Founder and Head Brewer of Pikes Peak Brewing Company. “It will allow the brewers to experiment and bring different flavor combinations to the India Pale Ale.”

The label on each edition will feature a different keystone face, continuing Pikes Peak Brewing’s track record of honoring a nugget of history or culture from the Pikes Peak region with every beer.

“We appreciate Pikes Peak Brewing Co.’s commitment to creating beers that reflect the unique history and distinct landmarks of the Pikes Peak region,” said Matt Mayberry, CSPM Museum Director. “We are pleased to see the 1903 El Paso Courthouse keystones represented on 38 Faces IPA and we’re excited for this unique opportunity to collaborate with Pikes Peak Brewing in promoting our region’s history.”

While there is no set schedule for the debut of each different edition, Pikes Peak Brewing expects new releases once or twice per year.
