Odd Side Ales Signs with Breakthru Beverage Illinois

Breakthru Beverage Group

Chicago, Ill — It is with great pleasure that Breakthru Beverage announces a new partnership with Michigan’s Odd Side Ales which will bring the brewery’s creative, culinary-focused beers into Illinois for the very first time.

“We are thrilled to be teaming up with Breakthru Beverage to enter the Illinois craft beer market,” said Chris Michner, Odd Side Ales’ Co-Founder and Brewmaster. “We appreciate the fact that Breakthru is selective with the brands they represent. We have always believed in small, reasonable growth and believe that we are finally ready to enter a new market.”

Odd Side Ales was born in an old piano factory in downtown Grand Haven, Michigan in 2010. The brewery has experienced tremendous growth since opening, and in 2015, expanded its production facility from 5,000 sq. ft. to 22,000 sq. ft. with an eye towards increasing production in the near future. In January, Odd Side Ales was named one of the Top 100 Brewers in the World by RateBeer for the second year in a row.

“We feel the innovation and creativity of Odd Side Ales is an exciting addition to the IL market” said Amy Abraham, Breakthru Beverage IL Director of Sales, Craft Beer and Cider. “We have been wanting to partner with them since we walked into their tap room.”

“When I think of Odd Side Ales, I think of creativity. They can brew a fantastic Coffee Blonde Ale or a Papaya Habanero Pale Ale with equal finesse,” added Dave Kahle, Breakthru Beverage Illinois Craft Beer Specialist and Master Cicerone. Whether it’s the use of alternative ingredients or their barrel aging program, Odd Side is pushing at boundaries with amazing, balanced, yet impactful, beer.”

Breakthru Beverage IL will begin distribution of Odd Side Ales flagship beers, Citra Pale Ale and Bean Flicker Coffee Blonde Ale, in both package and draft in early March. A rotating selection of seasonal offerings will be available as well.
