Lone Tree Brewing and Wild Woods Brewery Craft Birch Bark Kölsch for National Arbor Day

LONE TREE, CO — Last week Lone Tree Brewing Company hosted Wild Woods Brewery from Boulder to brew a Kölsch-style beer with Birch tree bark in honor of the upcoming National Arbor Day, a holiday observed to celebrate the importance of trees.

These tree-themed breweries teamed up to brew a beer with bark from Birch trees, a native Colorado tree, in the boil. This addition should impart subtle earthy flavors and fresh herb aromatics, say head brewers Josh West (Lone Tree) and Jake Evans (Wild Woods).

The Arbor Day Kölsch will tap at both breweries on Arbor Day, Friday, April 28. Both breweries plan to pass out seedlings to customers and encourage them to post tree-planting photos on social media using the hashtag #ArborDayBrew.
