London’s Fourpure Brewing to Begin Shipping Beer to the East Coast

LONDON — Long perceived as the home of lager louts and warm, flat beer, the U.K is having a beer renaissance to rival any of its counterparts around the globe. There is no-where in England that exemplifies this like the South London suburb of Bermondsey. Over the last few years Bermondsey has begun to carve out a name for itself with a high concentration of modern craft breweries all packed into a one-mile radius.

Fourpure Brewing Co. a stand-out from Bermondsey’s thriving craft beer scene has taken the opportunity to partner with Crafted Exports, a New York-based importer, to launch Fourpure beers on the east coast of the United States. Fourpure’s Session IPA and Munich-inspired Pilsner were recently unveiled at a launch event in New York City, swiftly followed by a Boston release and roll-out across exceptional venues in the two cities.

Crafted Export’s Qurban Singh was quick to sing the breweries praises. “When we started first traveling to London, Fourpure always stood out to us as making great beer and being a leader in the London craft beer scene. We are very excited to bring their flagship beers over to the US and further tie New York to London!”

Session IPA (4.2% ABV) takes inspiration from the transatlantic influence of American Brewing. The brewery was intent on capturing the flavours and aromas of bold hops that could be enjoyed in an easy drinking, sessionable beer. By utilizing Simcoe, Cascade and Centennial they deliver a bright, flavoursome IPA with a hit of exciting hop character, at a strength that means beer lovers can enjoy the beer well into the evening and still have a packed itinerary the next day.

Inspired by their cycling adventures through Germany and the Czech Republic, Fourpure Pils Lager (4.7% ABV) is their reimagining of a classic German Pilsner. Generous hopping with Mittelfruh and Saaz gives the beer a delightful floral and spicy aroma. The finish is dry, crisp, and refreshing

Fourpure already exports across Europe, Asia and Australia, with New York being its first foray into the U.S. market. With a swag of awards and accolades since their inception in 2013, 2017 saw Fourpure pick up Brewery Business of the year at the SIBA (society of independent brewers) annual national awards.

Fourpure co-founder Tom Lowe states “we’re delighted to be working with Crafted Exports in the U.S. and the UK, we’ve long admired the U.S. craft beer market and hold the breweries and beer drinkers that have helped innovate and shape that market in high regard. Given the opportunity to showcase our beers in the States is a big step for us and we couldn’t be more proud.”
