MILWAUKEE, WI – Lakefront Brewery, Inc. announced today the release of their new summer seasonal beer, El Wisco Mexican Lager. The new beer joins Lakefront’s portfolio of over 20 year-round and seasonal beers.

The brewery wanted to create an easy-drinking beer for summer, according to Chris Johnson, Lakefront’s Director of Business Development, but considered golden or blond ales outside the brewery’s lineup. “We do European lagers really well,” explained Johnson, “and since the early Mexican lagers were based on Vienna lagers, we felt that a Mexican lager was a natural extension of Lakefront’s American take on European lagers.”

The bright gold, light bodied beer brewed with Lemondrop™ and Mt. Hood hops has aromas of lemon candy, honey and slight melon. “It’s popular to serve traditional Mexican lagers with a lime wedge,” states Johnson, “We wanted to use hops in our Mexican lager to replicate that taste experience.”

Headquartered in Milwaukee, Lakefront Brewery, Inc. was started in 1987 by brothers Russ and Jim Klisch, and now distributes its products to 37 states and throughout Canada. Daily tours of the brewery are offered. We don’t expect guests to explore on an empty stomach, so we invite them to stop by the Lakefront Brewery Beer Hall where selections made from hometown recipes will be waiting.
