Hunterdon Donates Over $14,000 to Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts

Phillipsburg, NJ – Hunterdon Donates over $14,000 to Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts Whitehouse Station, NJ — December 11, 2013 — Hunterdon is proud to announce they will donate $14,917 to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. This money was raised through the sale of local beers during the month of November and will be donated to Hurricane Sandy NJ Relief Fund, a non-profit organization chaired by New Jersey First Lady Mary Pat Christie and former U.S. Senator Bill Bradley. This organization has raised over thirty-eight million dollars for New Jersey relief and recovery efforts since its inception in November 2012.

As a statewide New Jersey wholesaler for the past fifteen years, Hunterdon felt the need to assist their local community and fellow businesses after last year’s devastating storm. On November 1, 2013, they announced that fifty cents would be donated for every case of local beer sold during the month of November. Participating breweries were chosen based on those located in areas most affected by the storm and included River Horse Brewing Company, Cricket Hill Brewery, Yards Brewing Company, Philadelphia Brewing Company, Sixpoint Brewery, Bronx Brewery and Dogfish Head Craft Ales. Approximately 29,000 cases were sold during this time frame.

“Hunterdon is proud to give back to the resilient people of New Jersey who have given us such great support over the last fifteen years. A special thanks goes out our accounts for their contributions and involvement with this tremendous project,” states Company President Michael Short. Hunterdon takes great pride in the amount of charitable giving they provide to organizations throughout the Garden State. Each year they are involved with over a hundred charity or fundraising events; providing product as a way for these organizations to raise money. Hunterdon’s generosity also extends far beyond their local community. During the month of October, the company raised over $5000 for Colorado flood relief efforts via the sale of beer from their partner breweries in the Denver and Boulder surroundings.
