Half Moon Bay Brewing Company Announces New CEO

HALF MOON BAY, Calif. – Half Moon Bay Brewing Company is pleased to announce the hiring of Dow Tunis as their new President and CEO.

Half Moon Bay Brewing Company was established in 2000 as a casual coastal California restaurant, the brewery was added in 2003 and the business also operates The Inn at Mavericks, The Mavericks Event Center, and The Pacific Standard Tap Room in Berkeley, California.

Tunis most recently served as VP of Business Development for Drake’s Brewing Company in San Leandro, CA where he has held the positions of Sales Rep, Sales Manager, VP of Sales, and VP of Business Development. A 20 plus year veteran of the Craft Beer industry, Tunis was instrumental in the growth and expansion of the Drake’s brand since the current ownership purchased the brewery in 2008. Tunis originally cut his teeth running the former 20 Tank Brewery in San Francisco during the 90s, a business that was owned and operated by Drake’s owner John Martin, a pioneer of the craft brewing industry. Prior to that, Tunis worked in Food and Beverage for Marriott International in SF and Burlingame, CA.

“I’m very excited to be coming to Half Moon Bay at a time when the business is poised to expand the current production capabilities and strengthen its ability to supply beer to additional accounts around the Bay Area and California”. “This business has a very strong tie to the coastal community and the Bay Area and I look forward to experiencing the challenges and opportunities that are before us”.

“We could not be more thrilled with Dow joining our Half Moon Bay Brewing Co. team. As a fixture on the Half Moon Bay Coastside for nearly two decades, we are very excited to have Dow help us extend that coastal feel to our next stage of growth.” –Lenny Mendonca, Owner/Founder of Half Moon Bay Brewing Company
