Great Divide to Unleash Lasso IPA in Early 2014

Denver, CO – In early 2014, to kick off its 20th anniversary year, Great Divide Brewing Company will release Lasso IPA, a beer the brewery deems “the new frontier of India Pale Ale.” While Lasso makes its debut at 5% ABV, the lowest in the Great Divide portfolio, this Wild West-inspired beer is anything but mild. Brewed with a robust, aromatic roundup of Columbus, Centennial and Cascade hops, Lasso finishes with an impactful 50 IBU and boasts the same bold character that IPA enthusiasts expect.

Lasso’s sessionable simplicity might initially throw some longtime Great Divide fans for a loop, but the company sees the beer as the perfect addition to its year-round lineup.

“We’ve certainly developed an outstanding reputation for our big, high-ABV beers,” says brewery Founder and President Brian Dunn, “but we really take pride in our entire collection of balanced beers, regardless of alcohol content. Lasso gives our fans, especially the ‘Hop Disciples’, as we call them, another great option.”

Lasso joins Titan IPA, Hercules Double IPA, and the seasonal Rumble Oak Aged IPA in Great Divide’s highly respected family of India Pale Ales.

Available in 6-packs and draft starting in early January, Lasso will land in all 25 states where Great Divide distributes. As the label reminds those enjoying the beer, “bigger isn’t always betterÔǪthis’ll go down mighty fine.”
