Genesee Bock Beer Returns

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The snow is melting and signs of spring are getting closer, which can only mean one thing for beer drinkers — Genesee Bock Beer is back!

The limited-edition bock beer is among the most popular beers brewed at The Genesee Brewery, one of the largest and oldest continually operating breweries in the United States. Genny Bock is part of Genesee’s Heritage Series which also includes the iconic 12-Horse Ale.

“People love the taste of Genesee Bock Beer,” said Mike Mueller, Genesee Brew Master. “Like all of our Genesee Beers, experienced brew masters make Bock with the best ingredients to create the highest quality product available for the price. A tasting panel tests every batch we produce to ensure we’re creating quality beer with consistent taste. Year after year, we hear from hundreds of people telling us how much they enjoy our Genny Bock.”

Every spring since 1951, The Genesee Brewery has carefully crafted Genesee Bock Beer following a 16th century German tradition; Artisan brewers would patiently age a malty brew over a long winter with the arrival of the bock heralding the end of the cold, snowy season. The result is an exceptionally hearty, full-flavored beer with a slightly malty finish, delivering 5.2 ABV and 10 on the IBU scale.

“Genny Bock has become a favorite among beer drinkers who eagerly await its arrival every spring,” said Janine Schoos, brand manager for Genesee. “We know fans appreciate the attention to quality and brewing tradition. We’ve even heard stories of fans stocking up so they can enjoy it year-round.”

Genesee Bock is available in select markets on tap and in grocery and convenience stores. Meaning “goat” in German, “bock” beer regularly uses the animal as a symbol of the springtime brew. Look for the iconic green packaging featuring a billy goat on 12-pack cans and 6-pack bottles before they’re gone.
