Fretboard Brewing Company would like to thank its taproom customers, retail clients, family, friends and musicians for the immense support since operations began in late October. Fretboard is committed to grow and nurture the unique and rich history of Cincinnati beer and KevinMoreland will now be a part of that journey. In honor of Kevin joining the team, on ThursdayJanuary 18th, Fretboard will release an Imperial Stout named “Nati’ Dread”, infused with smoked coconut aged on Cacao nibs produced by Maverick Chocolate Co. of Over The Rhine. A dollar from every pint of Nati’ Dread sold on January the 18th will benefit the ArtsWave foundation.

Fretboard Brewing Company, a music infused microbrewery and food venue of Blue Ash, OH, opened their doors on November 4, 2017 with Jam Session, an all-day celebration and music event. In just a couple months of operations since Jam Session, Fretboard has grown to over100 active clients serving their beer in market while operating a successful taproom hosting music on the weekend and weekly events.

To get started, longtime friends and partners Bradley Plank, Joe Sierra and Jim Klosterman teamed up with Kevin Moreland of KDM Brewing Solutions, a long time Cincinnati beer native, to help begin their new endeavor. Kevin’s consulting services provided the necessary prowess, process, procedures and quality control methods that helped head brewer, Bradley Plank begin producing high quality product from the onset of the brewery.

As production increased and Kevin saw how the concept of music and beer became an inseparable part of Fretboard culture, a mutual interest in both parties became apparent. Kevin’s experience and dedication to quality is foundation and key to the partners at Fretboard. In turn, his interest in partnering with Bradley, Jim and Joe and the overall concept of the brewery brought new life and energy to Moreland’s future.

Moreland has a lengthy and successful history in Cincinnati’s brewing culture. Early in his career, he teamed up with Listermann/Triple Digit Brewing Company as head brewer, making the brewery one of the most award-winning breweries in Ohio. His next move was the opening of Taft’s Ale House as a Managing Partner and Head Brewer in Historic Over The Rhine. He assisted in the concept and development of the newly opened Taft’s Brewporium and A’Pizza inSpring Grove Village. Kevin departed from Taft’s Ale House in early 2017 to begin KDMBrewing Solutions, an independent consulting company for brewery development. Moreland will now abandon his business to work full time at Fretboard Brewing Company.
