Elite Brands Donates Pliny the Younger Profits

Denver, Colorado – This year’s allotment of Pliny the Younger has come and gone in Colorado but the financial contributions made by the craft beer community will leave a lasting impact on local breast cancer support center, Sense of Security.

This year, to coincide with the annual release of Pliny the Younger in February, distributor Elite Brands, chose to donate 100% of the profits made on Pliny the Younger to Sense of Security and asked retailers receiving Pliny the Younger to join in.

Terry Cekola, Owner & President of Elite Brands, was inspired by the owners of Russian River Brewing Company, Vinnie and Natalie Cilurzo, who each year, organize a breast cancer fundraiser called “All Hopped Up For A Cure”. All Hopped Up for a Cure, which has been ongoing for the last 10 years, continues to raise money for a local breast cancer support organization in the town of Santa Rosa, California where Russian River Brewing Company calls home.

The effort to raise funds for a cause very close to Natalie and Vinnie was met with enthusiastic support by the craft beer community. This resulted in a total of $4,756.00 going directly to Sense of Security which will ultimately help those that are living with breast cancer and experiencing financial hardship.

Thank you to the contributing retailers that include Falling Rock Tap House, Cheeky Monk, Back Country Pizza & Tap House, Freshcraft, World of Beer – Cherry Creek, Hop & Pie, Euclid Hall, Choice City, The Mayor of Old Town, Oskar Blues, and Lucky Pie – Louisville.

If you were unable to participate in this year’s Pliny The Younger Fundraiser but would still like to support the cause and donate to Sense of Security, please visit www.senseofsecurity.org for more information.
